Behavior Analytic Services and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a proven research-based therapy to treat people diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), behavioral and emotional disorders. Treatment considers environmental modification to reduce or eliminate problematic behaviors in individuals that lack appropriate skills (Social, daily living, independence, communication, executive skills) and reduce problematic and aggressive behaviors. Based on medical recommendations, assessments and interventions, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBAs) develop a Behavior Intervention Plan to address those deficits. Catalina LOVY Foundation will begin enrolling clients starting on Feb 2024. Enrollment forms will be available on that date.
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy is a science based on the use of learning principles to improve socially significant behaviors. At Catalina LOVY Foundation we focus on assessing the client, environment, and recommend interventions based on a Behavior Intervention plans. These services are most known for its application to children with autism spectrum disorder. However, at our organization, we provide services for Crisis Interventions, to intervene during crisis episodes for people struggling with behavioral / emotional disorders.
As a foundation, we deliver free training for Professionals and entry level Assistant on Behavior Analytic Services, preparing trainees to get their license as Registered Behavior Technician (RBTs) and Applied Behavior Analysis Technicians (ABATs). Professional training started Feb. 28th, 2023. This free professional training, sponsored by private donors, allowed 50 participants to be trained on Applied Behavior Analysis. Among the students we enrolled; pediatricians, nurses, Early Interventionist, Special Education Teachers, an Occupational and Physical Therapist, Speech and Language Pathologists, and Autism specialists. They will participate in 56 hours of training on Applied Behavior Analysis. The next class for 50 more professionals will be open on June 2024.
These services are provided at the client's home or in their natural environment (community). BCBA and Technicians visit families and implement safety and proactive plans to prevent situations that might trigger conflicts among family members and create communication channels to address differences in the families. We aim to support families in their daily routines, promoting parenting skills, behavioral training, and support during crisis. With the community- based services, after school program youth connections program, we help working parents create a home environment and routines to address youth behavior challenges. The family training sessions will be open for 50 families in need of urgent assistance with their children diagnosed with Autism and behavioral disorders. The training will be on a weekly basis where the interventionist will provide intervention procedures and protocols to address the family needs. Classes will begin on March 20th, 2024.
