Hello! This is Catalina, for whom we have organized the Catalina LOVY foundation. Catalina was born in Utah in 2003 and in a few months, her parents returned to Chile. She grew up with her grandparents, cousins and uncles. She loved her grandparents, serving and giving away things. She was always attentive to those who needed help and suffered for those who suffered. When she was 11 years old, she returned with her family to live in the USA. She experienced many things as any girl in her life, but her heart was always to help those in need, full of love for her neighbor no matter who it was.
She graduated from Franklin High School, in Preston-ID, After graduation, she started working at a rural hospital, taking care of elderly people, whom she loved to help, and even more, she suffered for them. She changed jobs and started working with people with special needs and she managed to make them love her so much that they always wanted to be with her.
On July 4th, Catalina covered a shift for a work colleague and that night, after work, she went out with some friends. One of them said "My sister is in danger; we must go get her home". Catalina called her mother telling "Mom, I'm going to rescue that girl, even if it's the last thing I do in my life, I know God will see that I'm doing something good" (Catalina statement). She arrived home and another colleague asked her to take her shift. Catalina never said no to anything and returned to work at 6 in the morning and left at around 9:30. She fell asleep on her way back home, and crashed head-on, dying instantly.
The accident has been the greatest pain as the family started to endure, but it has given them the strength and resilience to start Catalina LOVY Foundation with the purpose of helping the elderly, people in need, and children with special needs with "true love and Joy" (Catalina Manan-Kalasic 2003-2023).
My name is Carlos Aguero and I was born in Chile.
I moved to the USA around 1992 where attended to BYU and graduated in Computer Science.
I am a software engineer but I am also a musician. I compose mainly piano music.
I have known the Manan-Kalasic family for about 30+ years and I am happy to be part of this
organization in which we have the opportunity to help so many children.
My name is Trichele Hall. I've lived my whole life in and around Utah County. I Graduated from Utah Valley University in 2019 with a Bachelors in Biology. I enjoy hiking, reading, playing video games, board and card games, and anything arts and crafts related. I've got a dog and cat that keep me entertained with their goofy personalities. I've known Jorge and Roxana, and their family for almost 10 years. I was devastated to hear the news of Cata's passing and was honored to be offered the position of secretary.
Significant changes are being made to our Foundation. We will start our operations on Feb 2024
